Staff at the Grove Guest House are celebrating their tenth anniversary in the business.

The business, which opened on April 4th has been recognised by Visit Wales as a 4-star graded guest house had a record 5,500 visitors last year.

In 2003, current owners Carol and Peter Salthill-Jenne set about welcoming guests whilst working towards upgrading their 14 rooms to be en-suite and modernising the décor.  A new purpose built commercial kitchen was installed, the car park was significantly increased in size and quality to create more parking spaces and finally the conservatory was built in the latter part of 2012.

Carol Salthill-Jenne, owner of the Grove Guest House said: “We arrived in Wrexham in 2003 and opened the doors to our first customer on the 4th of April, and then it was business as usual from there on. Looking back, we smile at the times we bumped in to our guests with only a towel to cover their modesty whilst wandering our guest corridors.”

“We will continue to meet the ever changing needs of today’s modern tourists and travellers and assure they receive the best welcome to Wrexham, whilst signposting them to Wrexham’s shops, restaurants and places to visit.”

Despite a difficult time for the hospitality industry over recent years, current owners Carol & Peter  have witnessed a steady growth over the last decade, with a record 5,500 guests staying at the house last year.

Project Manager for the Destination Wrexham Partnership, Joe Bickerton said: “The owners and staff at The Grove Guest House continually strive to deliver a quality welcome for visitors to Wrexham and are terrific ambassadors for not only the town centre – but also the wider County Borough and North Wales.”

” We congratulate Carol and all the staff on their 10-year anniversary. Carol’s industry expertise has also significantly contributed to the development of Wrexham’s 5-year Destination Management Plan and her input taking this forward will be of great value.”
