A Griffin Helicopter has landed on Llwyn Isaf ahead of Armed Forces Day tomorrow.

At around 1:45pm the helicopter was spotted hovering over Wrexham, with a few people getting in touch asking why the police helicopter was flying so low over the town centre.

The helicopter was seen circling Eagles Meadow and at one point looked as though it was going to land on KFC!

The Griffin will remain on Llwyn Isaf overnight ahead of the Armed Forces Day event that will be taking place in the town centre throughout tomorrow.

We have also been told G4S will be monitoring the helicopter to make sure no damage is caused to it overnight.

Wrexham Council have uploaded a video of the Griffin helicopter landing, which can be viewed below.

On Monday two specially made flags were raised outside the Guildhall to signify the countdown to Armed Forces Day. The main event will take place tomorrow in the town centre from 10am, with a number of activities taking place on Llwyn Isaf.

A parade will also arrive in the town centre at around midday after leaving the barracks.

Full details and timings of the event, along with a map of where various activities are taking place can be found on our website here.
