Students at Glyndŵr University pelted their Students’ Guild president with cold baked beans to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.

The Splat the Sab event saw students make donations in exchange for a chance to fire shots at Adam Fuller.

The event, which took place outside the Students’ Guild, formed part of the activities for the university’s RAG (Raising and Giving) Week.

Other fundraising events included karaoke, leg waxing, ten pin bowling, a fancy dress walk through town and a Welsh cake eating competition.

All proceeds will go towards the children’s charity Buttle UK.

Emmalouise Humphreys, Students’ Guild Vice President, said: “The aim of RAG week was to combine some typical student fun with fundraising and students at Glyndŵr really did get into the spirit of things. Hopefully our efforts will go some way towards helping vulnerable children in the UK.”
