Gabrielle Shaw From Wrexham Wins Miss Wales 2013

The Miss Wales 2013 victor has been announced, with 19 year old Gabrielle Shaw from Ruabon being crowned winner.

Gabrielle tweeted saying “Thank you so much everyone, Miss Wales 2013! Seems crazy!”

Her profile for the competition said “I have trained in the performing arts since the age of five and continued these studies at The Hammond in Chester. Over the last few years however I have become totally involved in business, mainly retail.”

“I absolutely adore fashion and so managing my mother’s clothing boutique as well as spending a few years working for Jack Wills encouraged my flair for business. As a consequence of this I am moving to London in September to study Law and Business at LCA. ”

Wrexham had two finalists this year, with Gabrielle and Angharad (also known as Annie) who is a second year student at Liverpool Hope, studying Fine Art and Media and Communications.

Wrexham has produced a previous winner, Amy Guy who won in 2004. Amy studied at Yale and Ysgol Rhiwabon, and has gone on to appear on television as a Gladiator (Siren).
