Details of further overnight road closures for the A483 / A55 ‘pinchpoint’ roadworks have been announced.

Information released by the Highways Agency states that ‘each night from Saturday 7th to Wednesday 11th March 2015 there will be a total closure of the A55 eastbound exit slip road from 8:00pm to 5:00am and the A55 roundabout will be reduced to single lane running’.

At the same time as the A55 closure there will also a total closure of the A483 north and southbound between the junction with the B5102 and the A55, from 8:00pm to 5:00am. These works will be carried out from Monday 9th March through to Friday 13th March.

The Highways Agency note: “These closures are subject to the progress of our resurfacing team and we may not require a closure every night during this period. During these closures, clearly signed diversions will be in place.

“All works are, of course, subject to cancellation due to weather reasons, particularly at this time of year.”

Details of diversions and alternative routes have also been provided for those who need to travel on A483 and A55 during these times.

With regards to the closure of the A483 southbound from the A55 junction 38 to the A483 junction 7, the Highways Agency state: “Traffic wishing to travel south on the A483 will continue be diverted westbound along the A55 to junction 35 and continue via the A550 southbound, the B5373 southbound and the A5102 eastbound to join the A483 at junction 7, whilst traffic that wished to travel on the A483 southbound and exit onto the B5445 southbound at Pulford roundabout will be directed to continue over the A483 and continue on the B5102 eastbound and join the B5445 northbound.

“Traffic wishing to travel to the Rough Hill/Dodleston area will be diverted via the A483 northbound to Overleigh roundabout and south on Lache Lane.”

For those travelling north on the A483 towards the east and east Chester will be diverted off the A483 at junction 6, the A5156 south-eastbound, the A534 eastbound and the A41 northbound to join the A55 junction 39, south for Chester south and north for Chester east and north.

The Highways Agency add: “Traffic wishing to travel north on the A483 towards Chester south or North Wales will be diverted off the A483 at junction 7 westbound on the B5102 and continue on the B5373 northbound, and the A550 northbound to join the A55 at junction 35, westbound for North Wales and eastbound for Chester south.

“Traffic travelling the Pulford area will be diverted off the A483 at junction 7 and eastbound and northbound on the B5445.”

Earlier this week it was revealed the roadworks would not be complete by the initial due date in March and are now expected to be complete by May 10th.
