Full Candidate List For Wrexham & Clwyd South General Election Announced

The Returning Officer has announced the formal and final list of those standing in the 2017 General Election for Wrexham and for Clwyd South constituencies.

As of 4pm today nominations closed, with the final and official list of who is standing being announced via Wrexham Council who are essentially running the election.

As usual we cover two constituencies, Wrexham and Clwyd South. Both have more than one person standing so the election will be contested, with each candidate paying £500 deposit for the privilege that they get back if they win 5% or more of the valid vote.

Wrexham

There are 4 candidates:

Ian Lucas – Welsh Labour
Andrew Atkinson – Welsh Conservatives
Carrie Harper – Plaid Cymru
Carole O’Toole – Welsh Liberal Democrats.

Clwyd South

There are a total of 5 candidates:

Christopher Allen – Plaid Cymru
Jeanette Bassford-Barton – UKIP
Simon Baynes – Welsh Conservatives
Susan Elan Jones – Welsh Labour
Bruce Roberts – Welsh Liberal Democrats

Key Dates:

The deadline to register to vote: Monday 22 May 2017
Deadline to apply for a postal vote: 5pm Tuesday 23 May 2017
Postal votes will be dispatched on 24 May 2017
Deadline to apply for a proxy vote: 5pm Wednesday 31 May 2017

June 8th is election day!
