Freeze Hits Bin Collections
Wrexham Council have had difficulties emptying some green bins as the lids have been frozen shut during this very cold spell.
They say “Rounds are continuing but some green bins will not be emptied. Household waste bins are unaffected. The Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
One resident told us “We have seen this in the past as the leaves are wet and freeze solid”. Others took to twitter to say:
@wrexhamcbc @wrexham surely,in the year 2012,such a thing exists as a frosty bin opener?if not, anyone know dragons dens phone number?

The council replied to them saying:
@AnneHaddy You would think so but unfortunately not!
