Wrexham and District Health Support Groups are inviting members of the public to attend a free heart health event, to be held at the Wrexham Medical Institute on Wednesday 13th March from 7.30pm.

Dr. Johan EP Waktare, Consultant Electrophysiologist at Liverpool Heart & Chest Hospital, will present on the causes of ‘Sudden Cardiac Death in Young People’ and how this relates to sports men and women.

The talk will be pitched at a level where no prior knowledge of heart disease is needed, and is intended to be both informative and interesting. Due to the nature of this emotive topic, we are told it ‘may touch the heart of some people’ (!).

Nicola Coates BHF Adult Congenital Disease Specialist Nurse at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital will add a local flavour to proceedings with her talk about ‘Adult Congenital Heart Disease-a service for North Wales’.

Following the presentations there will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask any questions they may have regarding this subject. You can book a place at this event by calling the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital’s Membership Office on 0151 600 1410 or by emailing [email protected].
