Four people have been charged with a number of offences relating to stealing fuel from Wrexham petrol stations.

The offences relate to a series of fuel thefts that took place last November, with an adapted vehicle used to steal fuel. The vehicle was later seized as investigations began.

Inspector Paul Wycherley said there had been an increase in fuel thefts last November, with people going to petrol stations and driving off without paying.

Overall three males and one female have been charged with 28 offences between them. They will appear in court next month.

Officer Wesley Williams added: “During the investigation witnesses provided information to the police. There is a clear message, if you’re going to a petrol station pay at the pump or afterwards before you leave.”

Officer Williams added that anyone found committing petrol theft offences risks having their vehicles seized and a court order.
