Four Arrested Following ‘Spate’ of Arsons in Wrexham

Four arrests have been made in relation to a recent ‘spate’ of arsons in around the Llay area. 

The four arrests – consisting of two youths and two adults have been made in relation with arson attacks on disused caravans, a disused van and some grassland.

Two youths have been released on bail while two adults remain in Custody in Wrexham.

Over the past few months there have been a number of arson attacks reported in Wrexham, including the torching of vehicles, caravans, the front door of a property and shrubbery.

Over the weekend a car and a caravan were torched in Bradley and a camper van was also set alight in Coedpoeth.

A note on the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service website on the serious impact arson can causes, reads: ”

Advice on the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service website says: “As a consequence of Arson crime, an investigation will take place for each incident to collate information to build a case against the fire setter. If found guilty the person will be prosecuted, fined and maybe even sentenced dependant on the crime.

Consequences of deliberate fire setting:-

– Endangers life – a delay in attending an incident where a rescue is required could have serious consequences.
– Implications to the fire setter – a fine, may effect future employment and finding accomodation.
– Financial costs to the fire and rescue service
– Financial costs to other emergency services
– Environmental Damage
