Wrexham AFC have announced the capture of two strikers this afternoon in a double swoop for new boss Sam Ricketts.

34 year old Stuart Beavon joins the reds on a season-long loan deal from League One club Coventry City, and 19 year old Freddie Hinds pulls the red shirt on from Championship club Bristol City.

Stuart told the official club site: “I’m really pleased to be at Wrexham. I have spoken to Sam Ricketts a few times over the past weeks. It’s taken a bit of time but I’m glad it’s done and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch.

“Sam said to bring my experience to the team to help the lads mount a challenge this season.”

Freddie also talked to the club site, saying: “I would like to hope fans will see me as a finisher, creative and I can excite people going forwards. Goals is my main target and I hope I can come here and provide”

Manager Sam Ricketts called the Beavon capture a ‘fantastic signing’, and Hinds an ‘extra attacking threat with his energy and pace’.

Wrexham take on Forest Green Rovers tomorrow at the Racecourse for their first home pre-season game of the new season. Kick off is 3pm.

Monday also sees the club open day – more information here.
