FOCUS Wales shortlisted for UK Festival Award

An annual Wrexham music and culture event has been shortlisted at the UK Festival Awards.

FOCUS WALES, which takes place across three days in May, is among the contenders in the ‘Best Festival for Emerging Talent’ category.

Previous recipients of the award include Liverpool Sound City and Dot to Dot festival.

The event has been shortlisted for the award as a result of its ongoing work supporting emerging musicians, providing a platform for artists to showcase their talents to music industry professionals and new music fans.

Each year the FOCUS Wales festival conference attracts over 200 music industry delegates each year from all corners of the world to provide advice and guidance to emerging musicians, for free. Delegates already confirmed to attend the 2019 festival include Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury Festival), Rebecca Ayres (LiverpoolSound City) and Bev Burton (Cambridge Folk Festival).

The winner will of the ‘Best Festival for Emerging Talent’ category will be announced at a ceremony in London on 6th December.

Applications to perform at the festival are still open for UK and international artists via the FOCUS Wales website – the application deadline is 1st December.

FOCUS Wales 2019 takes places on the 16th, 17th, 18th May across various venues in Wrexham town centre. Full three day wristbands for admission to all FOCUS Wales events are available now at www.focuswales.com/tickets. Standard festival tickets start at an early bird price of £35 each.
