Flash Floods And Thunder Hit Wrexham On Friday
Earlier this afternoon a sudden burst of rain, hail and thunder resulted in flooding around the town.
At around 3pm there were rumbles of thunder, which quickly turned into heavy downpours of rain, with one person describing the rain as ‘Biblical’.
Roads around the town have been left with standing water, with some areas suffering particularly from the flooding. One person even got in touch to say the sudden storm had managed to set off their mother-in-laws car alarm!
There are also reports of floods in some areas of Cefn-y-Bedd, parts of Llangollen and also by the Kings Mill. Traffic is also starting to build up in some parts of town, with one person contacting us to say to avoid the route from Wrexham to Caergrwle.
Carl Thornton has sent us this video of the flooding at Kings Mill earlier this afternoon:
Below is a screen grab of Rain Today showing a heavy band of rain that is going to pass over the town again. It is expected to carry on until at least 7pm (which is as far as Rain Today is currently showing!)
If you’re out and about tonight, then drive safe as there’s still lots of standing water on the roads!
