Firefighters tackling “large building fire” in Llay – residents asked to keep doors and windows closed
Residents in the Llay are being asked to keep their windows and doors closed tonight due to a large fire.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service say they are tackling a “large building fire” in the area, with smoke visible from several miles away.
It is thought the fire broken out near the Llay Industrial Estate shortly before 11pm this evening.
Kraig told us that the electric “is off at the top of First Avenue” as a result of the fire. Cllr Rob Walsh has since tweeted to say that the “streetlights from Watts Dyke to Welfare along Llay New Road and on First Avenue are out so manoeuvre carefully.”
Cllr Walsh added: “Firefighters working hard to keep the blaze under control. Not much fire visible but plenty of smoke. Welfare roundabout and road up to Crown cordoned off, so if heading that way please divert.”
