Glyndwr University is to play host to this years ffresh festival.

Now in its 10th year, the moving image festival will showcase and celebrate the best work from students in Wales, the UK and abroad. The event is ideal for anyone interested in gaining an insight to the world of film and television.

Running from Wednesday 20th – Friday 22nd February, the event will feature guest lectures and masterclasses from some of the best names in the industry, along with film screenings and live band sessions. Previous guest speakers at ffresh include Oscar winning editor Jim Clark, producer Stephen Garrett and director Mike Leigh.

Ffresh will take place across the Glyndwr university campus and features a wealth of diverse events, including a competition to find the scariest 20 second film, a masterclass on how to get your foot in the door in the TV industry and film showcases from students at Glyndwr University, Aberystwyth University, Trinity St David and the University of Glamorgan.

The festival will end with the ‘ffresh awards show’, which will feature screenings of all the shortlisted work from ffresh awards and ffresh works.

Film screenings include:

Tokyo Story. Seen asYasujirō Ozu’s undisputed, cinematic masterpiece, the film focuses on an aging couple who travel to Tokyo to visit their grown children. The screening coincides with the Setsuko Hara (one of the stars of the film) exhibition in the  Orial Sycharth Gallery at Glyndwr.

Guest speakers and masterclasses include:

BAFTA in Wales Animation Masterclass with Aron Evans from Dinamo Productions.

The British Guide to Documentary Making with Jes Benstock.

Tomato Masterclass with Dylan Kendle.

Live band sessions include:

For one night only, online music channel Bedroom live will be relocating to North Wales for an exclusive set featuring some local bands.

A day pass for the festival is £10, a festival pass is £15 and tickets for individual events can be purchased separately and are listed below:
