A local family is joining forces to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice by taking part in the annual Colour Run next month.

In memory of her late mum Barbara Linsell from Leeswood, who was looked after at the Hospice, Kerry Griffith, her husband Andrew and their twin girls Holly and Chloe will all be involved in the event on 1st September at Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse.

“We are all so looking forward to taking part,” said Kerry.

“The girls are really excited; they cannot wait to get covered in paint and have been looking forward to it all summer.

“Nightingale House did a fantastic job of looking after my mum and as a family we would like to give something back.”

Sam Amis, Nightingale House Fundraiser said: “We are fortunate that families like Kerry’s take part in our events to remember their loved ones. The Colour Run is our second biggest event with every penny raised directly helping people who need specialist palliative care and support.

“We are also delighted DTCC and Hoya are sponsoring this year’s popular event. It’s a great for families and I’m not sure who enjoys this event more the children or the adults! It’s not about fitness; it’s about taking part and raising vital income for the hospice.”

“The Colour Run is a perfect opportunity for family and friends to come together and get involved in a fun and celebratory atmosphere.”

Participants can walk, jog or run their way through a 4km explosion of coloured powder paint to raise money.
To register for the event it costs £15 which will include sunglasses and a medal. Children between the ages of five and 12 go free.

Tickets are available to purchase until Monday 26 August. Tickets can then be purchased on the day but will cost £25 per person and spaces are limited.
