A stolen vehicle crashed into a police car following a police chase across Oswestry and the North Wales border.

The chase took place in the early hours of this morning, with West Mercia Police following a vehicle which had been stolen from Wrexham, through St Martins and into Overton.

The vehicle hit a North Wales Police car before the offenders abandoned the vehicle in Overton.

Two people have been arrested and are now in custody.

Sergeant Lee Johnson from West Mercia Police tweeted: “Squad came behind a stolen vehicle from Wrexham. Followed through St Martins and onto Overton. Vehicle hit a North Wales Police Car to avoid capture.

“Vehicle abandoned in Overton however after lengthy searches two people arrested and now in custody.

“North Wales took over when we went into their area. We don’t have video I’m afraid, no one hurt thankfully.”
