A warning about dirty water for Johnstown has been issued after an unspecified ‘fire service incident’ overnight.

Dee Valley Water have said: “There has been a Fire Service Incident causing discolouration, which is affecting Heol Kenyon, Johnstown and the surrounding area.

“The discolouration, whilst unsightly, is unlikely to be harmful to health.

“Please run your kitchen cold tap for 15 minutes or until the water clears. If it does not clear please contact the company.

“We are using all our resources to return the supply back to normal and we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”

There are currently no details on the incident, but usually such issues occur when the fire service use hydrants to supplement water supplies.
