Update On Cyclist Fatality In Minera

Update July 5th:

North Wales Police have today named the pedal cyclist who passed away yesterday afternoon, Thursday 4th July 2013,  in Church Road, Minera as 59 year old Stan Wasiuk who lived in the Coedpoeth area of Wrexham.

Mr Wasiuk’s family are being supported at this time by Police Family Liaison Officers and are asking their privacy be respected at this very difficult time.

PS Gwyndaf Jones of the Roads Policing Unit said “The circumstances leading up to this incident are still under investigation but at this stage it would appear no other vehicle was involved.  However if you were in the area at about 2.45pm yesterday and witnessed what took place I’d ask you contact the Roads Policing Unit by phoning 101”

At about 2.48pm today North Wales Police and other emergency services responded to the report of a Road Traffic incident in Church Road, Minera, Wrexham involving a pedal cyclist.

Sadly the male cyclist, a local man in his 50’s passed away.

Investigating Officer PS Gwyndaf Jones of the Roads Policing Unit said “The circumstances leading up to this incident are under investigation and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information concerning it, to contact the Roads Policing Unit by phoning 101”
