A young man from Wrexham has died after a suspected fall from a balcony while on holiday in Magaluf.

20-year-old Tom Hughes, who went to school in Rhosnesni, was on holiday when the incident took place over the weekend.

A Foreign Office spokesman has said: “We are providing assistance to the family of a British man who died on 3rd June in Mallorca, and are in contact with the Spanish authorities.”

Friends who set up the GoFundMe said: “Following the tragic news about Tom, we are looking to raise some funds in order to help the family as much as possible during the coming weeks, however we can.

“Tom was a fantastic person, who would have wanted to help anyone, and was a pleasure to be around.

“Any donations are greatly appreciated and will certainly the cause.”

At the time of writing there have been 280 donations which have raised over £5,400.
