This was a Live Story – latest updates at the bottom: The A483 Wrexham bypass is currently partially stopped northbound after the Gresford roundabout – at the bottom of Gresford Hill. Several people have seen emergancy services travelling to the incident along the road.

One person on the bypass tonight tweeted us to say :

There is an ambulance in attendance along with fire and police.

We have been told there is a “lorry in a really odd position across lanes, car in middle of road in a right mess.”

Emergency services have confirmed they are dealing with an incident, involving one casualty.

Rich Knew has driven past the scene as of 7:08pm and said the bypass is a “total block, backed up to Gresford roundabout”.

Another traveller on the road has been in touch to say as of 7:14pm traffic was slowly beginning to move again, with the road re-opened but currently one lane only.

A driver of a car close behind when the incident occured has said they had to stop ‘very rapidly’ and it ‘appeared that someone had pulled out of the layby before the Rossett exit and a car had crashed into them’.

We have also had reports of people who had been held up on the closed road turning around, and driving the wrong way down the Gresford roundabout slip road into oncoming traffic!

The road has now reopened fully and the ambulance service have said they have taken a female to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. An eyewitness told us that the driver of what is thought to be a Ford Ka was female, and appeared very shaken at the scene.
