May 2012 saw Wrexham vote for their favoured candidate as the nation took to the ballot boxes for the local elections.

In an effort to give Wrexhamites an informed selection we issued a unique Q&A to all 138 candidates, of which 40 responded.

By the time the dust settled on vote day it transpired that 12 of the 40 who had responded to the Q&A had won their seat. Recently we got in touch with the 12 successful candidates to find out how they were progressing in tackling the issues in their ward against the backdrop of severe cuts to local government budgets.

Each were issued with the same Q&A format, and half of the councillors answered our questions within the timeframe requested.

From next Monday, their answers will be published daily on the site. So check back to see if your councillor answered our questions and what they’ve been up to for the past 15 months or so!

For reference, councillors representing the following wards were contacted:-

Brymbo
Brynyffynon
Chirk South
Garden Village
Gresford
Gwersyllt West
Little Acton
Llay (x2)
Ponciau
Whitegate
