Coleg Cambria were recently represented in the Welsh National Inter-Counties netball competition.

Sally Jones, the deputy director of curriculum of sport and public services at Coleg Cambria, has represented North East Wales county teams since being a teenager.

She had also represented Wales and the Wales University side whilst studying for a degree in Sport and PE in UWIC (now Cardiff Met).

Held at Deeside Leisure Centre, the Welsh National Inter-Counties netball competition saw county teams from across Wales take part.

North East Wales team finished runners-up with Glamorgan Valleys winning the event.

Commenting on the event, Sally said: “I really enjoyed the experience of competing in the Inter-Counties alongside some great players. We played some great netball against some high quality sides.

“I am passionate about developing netball at Coleg Cambria, to enhance player’s skills both on the court, and in the classroom.

“I am looking forward to working with Kyra Jones (Head of Netball at CAVC and Welsh Netball Player), so together, we can provide support for our talented netball players across Wales.”
