Coleg Cambria Health and Safety learners have achieved top pass rates in attaining one of the industry’s hallmark qualifications.

The learners, all of whom aspire to play vital roles in the health and safety teams of organisations across the region, were presented with awards at the recent Coleg Cambria NEBOSH Celebration of Success Ceremony.

The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) provides globally recognised, vocationally related qualifications designed to meet the health, safety, environmental and risk management needs of all places of work in both the private and public sectors.

The Ceremony was attended by many special guests including David Lewis; Vice Chairman of NEBOSH, Steve Ball and Claire O’Neill from URENCO UK Ltd, Sandy Jennings of Jennings Safety Services Ltd and Rachel Jones; Vice Chair of North Wales IOSH Branch along with Jasbir Dhesi; Deputy Principal of Coleg Cambria. The achievements of all the learners who have gained NEBOSH qualifications through Coleg Cambria this year were recognised during the Ceremony.

Coleg Cambria’s Deputy Director of Management Development, Lesley Rasmussen said: “We are very proud of the NEBOSH provision at Coleg Cambria. Continuous improvement of our commercial courses in line with employer requirements is of prime importance. We aim to provide employers and our learners with the skills and knowledge needed to develop their careers and to add value to their job roles.

“There are various progression routes through the NEBOSH courses and other management related courses which are available at the College and we are constantly looking forward to expanding this provision.”
