Further warnings to residents have been issued following reports of more cold caller and rogue trader incidents in the Wrexham area.

NWP Wrexham Rural say that areas in the north of Wrexham have seen a particular increase in the calls.

Callers are reportedly claiming to have cleaned the guttering of a property, fixing gas pipes or carrying out other DIY jobs before asking the residents for money.

However police say that they are finding “no work has been carried out and people are being left out of pocket.”

Details released by NWP Wrexham Rural state: “Recent reports claim a large car is being used. Genuine tradesmen will generally use a van with their company name printed on the vehicle.

“We are asking people to remain vigilant and please look out for any elderly or vulnerable neighbours.”

Earlier this week Wrexham.com reported that a similar cold caller warning had been issued following reports of homes being targeted in the Rossett area.

Just up the road in Gresford there were also reports of garden furniture being stolen.
