Following an incident on the road last night the full A5 section was due to be closed for 24 hours, however one lane has reopened sooner than expected.

Update Midday: Thanks to Francesco for the top picture of where the work is taking place, still long delays via diversions in Chirk and Overton northbound.

The road was closed off last night due to a crash that left one woman trapped in her vehicle, thankfully she was rescued by the Fire Service.

Diversions are in place this morning for both directions, however the southbound lane has reopened for traffic as of 7am.

We will update this article with progress throughout the day.
