The festivities are upon us and with Christmas day just around the corner it’s time to enjoy the season and do some Christmas shopping.

Throughout December Erddig has been hosting its Christmas market. Set out over Erddig’s historic grounds; the market is the perfect opportunity to take a trip back in time. Based inside little wooden chalets; the stalls specialise in unique, handmade gifts and crafts that really do capture the imagination. From jewellery, ornaments and woodwork, there’s even the chance to decorate your own Christmas wreath. There’s plenty to choose from if you want to support smaller businesses and find something unique for your loved one this year.

There’s also plenty of food stalls close at hand. From homemade chocolate brownies, freshly made Welsh cakes, cheeses and even the odd tipple of mulled wine, there’s plenty to snack on as you work your way through the market.

Alongside the stalls, there’s plenty for children young and old to enjoy. Throughout the day there is live music from bands, puppet shows, the chance to stroke an owl; and more importantly, the opportunity to visit Santa and his reindeer in his grotto.

The final weekend of the market is the 15th and 16th of December and is open from 10am-5pm. Entrance fees are £3.50 for an adult and it’s free if you’re under the age of 16 or a member of the National Trust. To meet Santa it’s £5.
