Man Dies After Chirk River Rescue

Update Wednesday Morning: Sadly we have been told the man pulled from the river has died.

Story from last night below:

A man in his twenties has been airlifted to hospital after being rescued after being found in the River Ceiriog by Pont y Blew near Chirk.

North Wales Police , the fire and ambulance services were called to the incident just before 7pm. The man was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, and his condition is described as ‘serious’.

Reports indicate that the man was taken out of the river just before 8pm.
