A Chinese buffet restaurant could offer new life for the basement floor of the former Wrexham Woolworths if a planning application is successful.

Bolton based company The Chinese Buffet has applied to open the restaurant and say they aim to raise the standards set by other UK buffet style restaurants.

The floor has remained empty since Woolworths closed back in January 2009, although the upper level was taken on by Discount UK in August 2011.

Minor changes will be made to doors and a new colour shcheme for external fascias.

The property is situated on the basement of 8-12 Regent Street although access would be via the two staircases on Lord Street.

The company’s website can be found here.

We are currently waiting to hear back from The Chinese Buffet on their plans for the Wrexham restaurant.
