A part of Chester Street was closed off by police just after 1:30pm this afternoon as an altercation spilled into the road.

It appeared that two large groups were arguing between the Old Vaults pub and the gym across the road as we walked past the scene.

The road was closed off at the People’s Market to the Wynnstay Arms Hotel.

There were around twelve police cars responding along with an ambulance. A police helicopter was also hovering above the scene.

One eyewitness told Wrexham.com he saw a gun sliding across the floor outside the Old Vaults pub, however he was ‘very sure’ it was a pellet or BB gun, one man appeared to be injured, and we saw one man was led away in handcuffs.

Police have confirmed that two people have been arrested for public order offences and there was an imitation firearm at the scene. There are no ongoing searches for more people connected to the incident.

The incident appeared over by around 2:30pm.
