Cheshire Police have made a missing persons appeal for a lady who is familiar with the Wrexham area.

Police are appealing for a missing woman Catherine Standeven, aged 41, to get in touch.

Cheshire Police said “Catherine was last seen at her mother′s address in Ellesmere Port around 11 p.m. on the evening of (yesterday) Tuesday 8th July

“Catherine has no car and may have travelled by bus, taxi or train since last seen. She is familiar with the Wrexham and West Kirby areas

“Catherine is white, 41 yrs of age, slim build with short dark hair”.

At just before 3 o’clock this afternoon Police received a call from a young woman who sounded distressed, but the call was discontinued. Police believe the caller could have been Catherine.

Inspector Darryl Jones, of Ellesmere Port Police said: “Catherine′s mother is anxious to hear news of her daughter, and I would urge Catherine if she hears this appeal, to make contact with police to provide us with re-assurance that you are safe and well.”

“We have real concerns about the welfare and well being of Catherine, and would also appeal to anyone who thinks they may have seen her to make contact with Cheshire Police with any information they may have.

“We know that Catherine does not have access to a car and would particularly appeal to commuters on public transport to consider whether they may have seen her as they undertook their journey. We would also ask taxi drivers to consider whether they may have transported someone fitting Catherine′s description either yesterday evening or today.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident no 134 of 9.7.14.
