Two local lads are due to cycle from London to Brussels via Amsterdam at the end of May to raise money for Prostate Cancer Research and are looking for your support.

Tomas Goodwin and Huw Birkhead who are taking part in the 3 city cycle said “As a close friend of ours was diagnosed with prostate cancer just over a year ago and we both decided that we wanted to raise some money for the charity.

“1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer sometime in their lives. It is the most frequently diagnosed male cancer in the UK. The Prostate Cancer Research Centre undertakes research that will improve the survival and the quality of life of men with prostate cancer.”

Tom rode from London to Paris last year raising over £3,000 for the charity. Huw has decided to join Tom this year in trying to raise more money for the charity and they decided to go a bit further this time and will be doing the 3 city cycle.

Huw said “We are holding a charity night at the Acton Park Pub on the 21st of February where we will be attempting to ride the distance from Wrexham to London to start off our trip.

“There will be a raffle with some great prizes including a TV, pampering experience vouchers, cinema guest passes and much more. All proceeds will be going to the charity. There will also be live music from 8pm onwards.”

Donations can be made online at their Just Giving page: http://www.justgiving.com/HuwBirkhead or you can text HUWB88 and an amount eg £2 to 70070
