Nine charged with Supplying Cannabis and Ammo Recovered
North Wales Police today confirmed the culmination of a 12 month investigation, Operation Juniper, into the supply of cannabis in north east Wales when nine men were charged last weekend with conspiracy to supply controlled drugs. The nine men aged between 25 and 44 are from Wrexham, Chester, Manchester and Scotland.
In addition one of the men was charged with an unconnected offence of possession of 120 rounds of live 5.56mm ammunition found at his home address as part of search warrants for the drugs conspiracy. Such ammunition is often used with rifes and is commonly known as ‘NATO issue’.
Investigating officer DC Tim Bird of the North Wales Police Major Crime Team said “All nine were charged with Conspiracy to Supply Cannabis a Class B Controlled Drug between 1st March 2011 and 22nd February 2012 between Wrexham, Manchester and Scotland. They are due to appear before Wrexham Magistrates Court on Friday 15th June 2012.“
