Wrexham town centre will be full of celebration tomorrow afternoon with hundreds expected to take part in the annual St David’s Day Parade.

The parade through the streets of the town centre will begin at 1pm and will be followed by entertainment in Queen’s Square to celebrate the Patron Saint of Wales.

Organised again this year by Menter Iaith Maelor in partnership with Wrexham County Borough Council, the parade has become a firm fixture in the calendar in recent years with hundreds turning out on the streets to cheer the parade on.

Under the leadership of Band Cambria, the parade will make it’s way through the town ending in Queen’s Square where pupils of local schools will perform and where everyone will have an opportunity to join in the singing of Calon Lân and the National Anthem of Wales to the accompaniment of the Wrexham County Senior Brass Band (lead by Steve Atherton).

The weather for the past few days has been quite wet and dreary, however the current Met Office forecast shows some dry weather with the potential for some sunshine around 1pm!

Everyone is welcome to take part in the parade which will assemble outside the Guildhall from
12:30pm before starting at 1pm (sharp!).

The St David’s Day Parade will be the first of a series events to take place next week – with a three day musical celebration taking place on the High Street in the town centre between Friday 3rd March and Sunday 5th March.
