Cefn Road Closed After ‘Serious Collision’ Between Bus And Car

Police are requesting people avoid the Cefn Road area of town this afternoon as they respond to a serious RTC.

UPDATE 4:10pm: A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson has given an update on the incident saying: “We were called at 2.20pm today to a road traffic collision involving a car and a bus on Cefn Road in Wrexham.

“We sent two emergency ambulances, two ambulance officers and a Wales Air Ambulance with a doctor on board to the scene.

“Three people have been taken to hospital; one woman with minor injuries, one woman with serious but non-life threatening injuries and one man for a precautionary check-up.”

The incident involves two vehicles, one including a bus, with North Wales Police saying: “Road closed delays expected for some time please stay away from immediate area”.

“Diversions are now in place from Abenbury Roundabout”.

INCIDENT-LOCATION

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed to Wrexham.com the incident has involved a car and bus, with emergency services called at 2:20pm.

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses saying: “Officers were notified of the collision on Cefn Road involving a bus and a car at 2.18pm.

“Police, Ambulance and the Fire Service were notified and are in attendance. The Highways department of the local authority have also been informed.

“Individuals have sustained injuries however emergency services are still at the scene at this time.

“The road is currently closed, diversions are in place and officers are advising motorists to avoid the immediate area at this time.”

“Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact members of the Roads Policing Unit at Deeside on 101 quoting reference number S057584.”
