Appeal After Fatal Crash On Cefn Road

Cefn Road was closed after an early morning crash, which was sadly fatal.

Police are appealing for information following the incident and have released further details.

At 6.24am officers were alerted to the collision on Cefn Road, Wrexham, near the Five Fords Sewage Works involving one vehicle, a green coloured Vauxhall Vectra.

The Ambulance service were informed and the driver, who is believed to be a local man in his 50’s, was taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police inquiries are underway into the collision and officers from the Roads Policing Unit are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to contact PC 450 Aled Jackson at the Deeside Roads Policing Unit on 101.

The highways department have been informed and Cefn Road/ Bedwell Road are currently closed. Diversions are currently in place at the junction of Cefn Road / Abenbury Road and Cefn Road / Bridge Road.

We were informed that the incident occured just before 7am, with emergency services at the scene promptly.

The road was closed from the Caia Park end to the industrial estate.
