Vehicle and property windows in Brynteg were left shattered last night after unknown objects were thrown / shot at them late last night.

Police in Wrexham investigating damaged car and house windows in the New Broughton, Tan y Fron and Coedpoeth areas about 10pm last night are seeking witnesses.

The picture above was sent to us just after half eleven last night, with Chris Wright saying: “People shooting cars in Pentre Broughton. My window destroyed. Be careful people.”

Chris told us “I was driving a friend home at 10:15pm through Pentre Broughton up Gatewen Road and suddenly my passenger window shattered.

“We pulled over and realised we had been shot at. We called the police and were joined by another car who had been shot at seconds before us. My window is totalled.”

North Wales Police have said they are keeping an ‘open mind’ as to what caused the damage.

Earlier Marcus Jones got in touch to say “To the idiots in Brynteg who shot at my sister & her son as they drove home earlier, you are scum.”

“My sister and her 11-year-old son were driving home at around 10pm, when they heard something hit the car. They pulled over, which is when they noticed a gang of lads with an air rifle. The car travelling immediately behind my sister had it’s side window taken out.”

“My sisters car was left with only minor damage, some marks where the pellet had scuffed the roof.

As one there tonight said “It would be good if someone in the area could ID these idiots.”

Inspector Andy Jones said “One car and three house windows were damaged and enquiries so far indicate they are linked as youths were seen throwing stones. There is no evidence to suggest an air gun was used. Extra patrols will be carried out in the areas over coming days to seek witnesses and reassure the local community.”

Anyone with any further information is advised to call North Wales Police on 101 quoting Crime Reference Number R113244 .
