Car Set Alight in Overnight Arson Attack
A vehicle has been left with severe damage after it was set alight in Gwersyllt late last night.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a vehicle fire on recreational ground in Heol Cefn, Gwersyllt at 11:28pm last night.
One crew from Wrexham attended the incident and a hose reel jet was used to extinguish the blaze.
The vehicle has been left with 70% fire damage and the incident was a result of deliberate ignition.
This is the fifth incident of arson to take place in the Wrexham area this week, with two caravans and two hedges / trees set alight in the area earlier this week.
Locally there were also reports that the police helicopter had been seen over the Llay and Gwersyllt area.
A spokesperson from North Wales Police confirmed that they were called to a vehicle fire in a field near Gwyn Evans Sports Centre at 10:50pm.
The police helicopter searched the area for potential suspects, however no arrests were made.
