Artist’s impressions of how the new OW People’s Market will look once complete are being displayed in the cafe of the South Arcade.

The images, which are on display on a notice board in the Cafe in The Corner in the People’s Market, will be updated as work progresses.

Cafe in The Corner owners Kev and Sue Dibbley have welcomed the opportunity to have the images displayed in the cafe.

The OW/People’s Market project is now well underway with Wynne Construction on site and the South Arcade also getting a facelift with a coat of paint and deep clean.

Last week Wrexham.com reported that a set of murals outlining the vision of Wrexham’s multi-million pound have been installed in both the South and North Arcade entrances.

Stores in the South Arcade are now fully occupied and there’s free entertainment for youngsters every Saturday until the project is complete. There’s also an opportunity to try your hand at art at the Wrexham Independent Gallery, (tWIG), which is also based in the Arcade. tWIG exhibits and sells art that has been produced solely by local artists.

Plans are also well underway for the launch event which will take place on 2 April 2018. Called Dydd Llun Pawb, it will see a long lost tradition revived with a town centre bank holiday event for the whole family to include a fun fare and a parade.
