Businesses in Wrexham are being urged to back their local football club and become “part of the fabric of Wrexham life.”

Wrexham MP Ian Lucas has written a letter urging businesses across his constituency of Wrexham to get involved with the fan-owned Wrexham Football Club.

In the special letter urging businesses to look into sponsorship and commercial opportunities at the club, Mr Lucas talks about how it is one of the cornerstones of Wrexham life.

His letter states: “Wrexham FC is an essential part of the fabric of the town of Wrexham and very often forms part of conversations I have with workforces I meet in many of the Wrexham businesses I visit.”

And he also talks about what the club means to him as a supporter: “As a season ticket holder, I can testify to the enjoyment which being part of a supporter-owned club. I was not born a Wrexham supporter, I became one and I hope you will, in whatever way is appropriate to you, get involved yourself.”

The letter will be used to show businesses just how much the club means to its supporters and the benefits of working alongside the club in a commercial capacity.

Mr Lucas said: “I am a Wrexham fan and a huge supporter of the fan-owned club. I visit all kinds of businesses as Wrexham’s MP and it is little surprise that those firms; staff – and their customers – are often fans of the club too.

“Wrexham Football Club is a community club – and there are huge benefits to loaning it support which I want businesses to take up”
