Burst Pipes Results In Murky Brown Water In Wrexham
A number of residents across Wrexham woke up this morning to find their taps were running murky brown water.
Many parts of Rhostyllen, the town centre, Erddig and even parts of Rossett, Burton and Marford woke up this morning to find brown water was coming out of their taps.
A number of residents contacted Wrexham.com this morning regarding the issue – with Steven Roberts saying that Rhostyllen had no water out of the taps between 5.30am and 7.30am
Sadie tweeted Wrexham.com to say: “Ran the tap to some lovely brown water in pen y bryn area this morning”
It has also been pointed out by many readers that it looks more like coke coming out of the taps, rather than water.

The water in some parts is now believed to be running normal with Steven tweeting to say: “Well done to the guys for fixing water supply quickly! Maybe if the supplier invested more then the pipes would not burst?”
A statement on the Dee Valley water website reads: “A large diameter water main feeding parts of Wrexham including Rhostyllen has burst in Sontley/Erddig. Our engineers are currently organising in the process of isolating and organising repairs. This may cause poor pressure or no water temporarily to properties in the area. When supplies start returning supplies maybe discoloured. Please run your supplies for 15 minutes or until clear. Please accept our apologies but we are using all our recourses to return the supplies as quickly as possible.
“Also following a burst overnight, some properties in Rossett, Burton and Marford may have discoloured or aerated water. If this occurs please run at your cold kitchen tap until clear. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but be assured we are doing everything possible to restore supplies to normal as soon as possible.”
