Burglars attempt to break into ATM machines during “incident” at Johnstown Co-op

Police have confirmed that an “incident” at a local Co-op involved burglars attempting to break into the store’s ATM machines.

Over the weekend North Wales Police issued an appeal for witnesses after an incident at the Co-op in Johnstown shortly before 11:00pm on Friday night.

A police spokesperson has now confirmed that offenders gained entry at the rear through the goods entrance at the shop on Ruabon Road.

An attempt was made to break in to the ATM machines, but the offenders fled empty handed.
