Staff and customers at a local supermarket have raised over £1700 for a local hospice following monthly bucket collections at the store.

The team at Iceland in Gwersyllt donated a grand total of £1712 to Nightingale House Hospice in Wrexham following success of the fundraising.

The collections have been underway on the first Saturday of every month for the past ten months.

Store Manager James Roberts said: “We have many requests for collections at the store and when Nightingale House Hospice approached us, we were more than happy to accommodate a regular collection for them as their work has touched the lives of so many of our staff and customers.”

Nightingale House Hospice Area Fundraiser Sam Eastwood said: “We are so grateful for the support of local stores to help us collect money.

“Staff and customers at Gwersyllt Iceland have been so generous and have raised a substantial amount for our Hospice.

“We are here for the local community and it is so good to know that the community is here for us too.”
