Brickfield Rangers to Host Half-Term ‘Steve Walters Soccer Camp’

Brickfield Rangers have announced that the Steve Walters Soccer Camp will take place in Wrexham next month.

Sponsored by the OFFSIDE Trust the two day soccer camp will take place the Clywedog Leisure and Activity Centre on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd June.

Former footballer, Steve Walters who played 146 League Football games for Crewe Alexandra, is currently the Director of The Focus Charitable Group The OFFSIDE Trust which supports fellow survivors of abuse within sport and aims to safeguard to children.

Steve has agreed terms with Brickfield Rangers’s Football in the Community Organisation BR in the Community to host a soccer camp in his name to highlight his professional and grassroots footballing career and enable the local community to meet a real life footballing role model.

BR in the Community Director Andrew Ruscoe said: “I am pleased to announce that Steve has agreed to having his very own Soccer Camp with us at Brickfield Rangers where we are extremely excited and looking forward to be introducing Steve, who is an amazing ambassador to Grassroots football and highlight his professional career, to the Youth of our Community.

“I believe Steve fully deserves this opportunity and it continues with our great work that we do at Brickfield Rangers on bringing real life Sporting role models to the community to help inspire Young Children in the Wrexham Area to engage more in Sport.

“We are extremely lucky that Steve has agreed this, and we are really great grateful. As we know Steve is Director of such an inspiring Project of aiming to Safeguard young people from Abuse in Sport we have agreed that every child who attends the Soccer Camp we will give £1.50 back to the OFFSIDE Trust to continue his amazing work”

The Soccer Camp will be held over Two days during Thursday 1st June and Friday 2nd June at the Clywedog Leisure and Activity Centre for £5 per day for children aged 4-14 years of age.
