A body has been found in an area of woodland at Alyn Waters Country Park in Llay over the weekend.

The discovery was made on Saturday morning and emergency services including the ambulance service and police quickly arrived on the scene.

The person’s identity has yet to be released, however Llay residents have said they believe it was a local man aged 30-40.

On Saturday @wrexham follower Mike Gadie contacted us at around 10.30am reporting a large amount of police activity in the area, he said: “police and ambulances at alyn waters do you know whats happening?”

North Wales Police confirmed that a body was found but were not in a position to disclose any further information.
