Residents whose bin collection was cancelled due to snow and bad weather can expect to have their waste disposed of next weekend.

The rescheduled date is for those whose black bins were not collected on Friday December 8th and Monday December 11th

Wrexham Council say it will collect black bins on Saturday December 16th. Green bins or recyclables will not be collected – instead they will be emptied on the next scheduled pick-up day.

Bin collections elsewhere across Wrexham are expected to continue as normal.

Details released this afternoon by Wrexham Council, state: At the moment, staff are busy clearing ice and snow – but as we expect temperatures to stay very low things may change.

“We are trying to minimise disruption to the waste service and we ask for your patience whilst we work through this difficult weather.”

Cllr David A Bithell, Lead Member for Environment and Transport, said: “It has been a difficult time for the crews and all other staff involved with preparing for and dealing with the snow and ice who have all worked tirelessly to make sure the main routes remain clear for motorists.

“We can now turn some of our attention to clearing communal, shopping areas and side routes whilst making sure priority routes remain clear.

“I would like to thank everyone for their kind words on social media and for their patience over the past few days.”
