Arrest today in connection with ‘water board’ distraction burglaries – one suspect ‘remains at large’
North Wales Police have said they have arrested a man today in connection with the distraction burglaries earlier this week.
Police said this morning: “Officers investigating a spate of distraction burglaries in Wrexham earlier this week have arrested a man. A 36 year old was arrested at a caravan site in Gwern Lane, Hope this morning and is currently in police custody in Wrexham.
“Officers also attended a caravan site in Ruthin Road Wrexham in search of a suspect who remains at large.”
“A vehicle was removed from this site in connection with a separate investigation.”
DI Mark Hughes said: “Our investigation into these crime continues and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101.
“I would also like to remind residents not to allow cold callers into their homes and not to let people claiming to be from the utility companies into their homes unless they are satisfied that they are genuine.”
