A Wrexham takeaway was hit by an armed robbery in the early hours of this morning.

Three masked men struck at Dominos Pizza store in Island Green at about 1.40am.

The robbers ran into the store brandishing a bat, iron bar and a knife and threatened staff before making off with a money bag containing a small amount of cash.

Thankfully no-one was injured in the incident.

DS Richard Rees said “We are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area and seen anything suspicious to contact police on 101.”

The takeaway was open today with no visible damage to the store.

Staff were not willing to comment on what happened, but were said to have been left shaken by the incident.
