Application For New Housing Development In Caia Park

A new residential development consisting of eight flats and 15 houses could be built in Caia Park if a planning application is successful.

The application, which states is to provide a ‘varied mix of affordable housing for local people’, would be built on an existing football pitch along Coed Aben close to Anthony Eden Drive. The developments would contain a mixture of one, two, three and four bedroom houses / flats and would ‘provide a mix of affordable houses for families and older people’.

A description in the application reads: “The design provides modern, attractive housing that raises the standards for social development in the area.”

Along with the houses, each residence with also have a ‘manageable garden area, landscaping of new railing protecting front gardens supplemented by barrier planting’.

In an accompanying Design and Access Statement, it reads: “The proposed scheme in Glan Gors will provide high priority housing on an prominent site in Caia Park on the outskirts of Wrexham Town Centre.

“The design seeks to use the most positive features of the site, it is open and sunny aspect and its excellent location close to the many public amenities nearby.”
