Police are appealing for information after six piglets were stolen from a small holding outside Wrexham.

On several occasions since January 2 Pietrain piglets, which were born just before Christmas, have been taken from the smallholding on the outskirts of Rhostyllen, Wrexham. In the latest incident on January 16 one animal was taken.

Inspector Andy Jones: “It is believed that the thief has little or no knowledge of pigs as they are too young to be taken from the sow and unless returned could well perish.

There is a concern that they may have been taken as pets. They are known to grow to a considerable size and are totally unsuitable as pets.”

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call police on 101- Incident Reference number RC14007760.
